Background
Backed with a foundation in computer science, scientific computing, and computer algorithms, I have been working in the area of mass-spec-based proteomics informatics, specifically peptide identification from tandem mass-spectra, for about 20 years. Active with the NCI’s Clinical Proteomics Technology Initiative since 2004 I am now responsible for the CPTAC Common Data Analysis Pipeline in the CPTAC Data Coordinating Center. My lab’s efforts has expanded to study mass-spec based glycoproteomics data analysis, including intact glycopeptide identification by tandem mass-spectrometry; intact glycopeptide quantitation by targeted LC-MS/MS workflows, such as DIA and SWATH; and more generally glycoinformatics with the GlyGen glycoscience data portal. For the CTGRC, the GPTwiki project provides validated glycopeptide transitions for DIA and SWATH glycoproteomics quanitation, while the GNOme ontology provides resources for exploring glycan structures.
